IRON BOOSTER

Welcome back!

You need to focus on iron and some mineral once your baby starts solids, you can read the introduction to solid here. Iron is one of the essential minerals your baby need because it is needed to make haemoglobin, a part of body cell.

Meat is considered to be the best source of iron for babies most especially the liver. Once your baby is 6 months, you can start adding cooked meat puree to the baby diet.

If you can not get good quality or you can not trust your local butchers’ egg is a great substitute or beet root like I use in this recipe.

I love beet because of its naturally sweet taste.

One of the reasons why I love root is the vibrant colour and it can be used as natural food dye. i use beet to make red velvet cake, isn’t that amazing?

The stain of this red food can easily remove from clothes, so no panic at all.

 

Suitable from 7m+

INGREDIENTS

4 cubes of beet root

1 banana

4 cauliflower floret

2 tablespoon cooked pasta

 

DIRECTIONS 

  1. Boil or steam the cauliflower and beet until beet is soft
  2. Add the banana and pasta
